Library Instruction Options for the Fall 2020 Semester
Please allow a minimum of one-week notice for customized tutorials, videos, and partnerships.
*Options 4-6 have ready-made resources that you can use now.
Option 1: Pre-recorded instruction sessions in Canvas (on demand)
Contact us if you are interested in having a Librarian speak directly with your students about a specific topic or assignment via a prerecorded (asynchronous) session.
Option 2: Live virtual instruction sessions
Contact us if you are interested in having a Librarian speak directly with your students about a specific topic or assignment via a virtual synchronous session.
Option 3: Assignments in partnership with librarians
Contact us if you are interested in designing more in-depth collaborations with a librarian to assist students in the research process. This can include helping with individual assignments or semester long (embedded) commitment to your course.
Option 4: Library tutorials and videos in course content
The library is always working to update and add online research tutorials and videos. See what interactive plug and play tutorials that embed in Canvas for a grade and videos we currently have, or contact us for help finding the tool that works well for your class or if you need more details and information on custom tutorials for your course.
Option 5: Course menu link to a specialized Research Guide
Specialized research guides assist students by focusing on the unique topic and resources for the course or subject. When there is a specialized guide for the class, the Library Resources link in Canvas will automatically direct to that guide. See what Research Guides we already have or ask us about options for collaboration on building a Research Guide for your class or assignments.
Option 6: Gather Resources for an Assignment
The library has a wealth of streaming video and eResources that you can utilize in your Canvas class. Contact us if you need help gathering videos and eResources for an Assignment.
Option 7: Ask Us
Have something in mind that doesn’t fit in the above categories? Let us know, and we will set a time to contact you to collaborate.
