New Magazines for Leisure Reading

This semester the library added twelve popular English-language and one Spanish-language magazine subscriptions.

Topics addressed by these publications include travel, motorcycling, the outdoors, golf, fitness, health, gardening (including organic gardening), dietary matters, Latina style, and geography (in Spanish).

Popular magazines can be found on the Current Periodicals shelves, which are located on a wall to the north of the Computer Commons area.

Off Campus Database Access

GCC users may be experiencing problems associated with off-campus authentication to library databases. The problem has been reported and a solution is being sought.

Alternate access to some databases is available via the MCCCD District Database page. Use your ID barcode (located on the back of your GCC ID) and library PIN for access.

SciFi Author Passes Away

In honor of the passing of science fiction writer, Arthur C. Clarke, the LMC invites you to check out Clarke's books that are available at the Library.

Clarke, best known for the film 2001: A Space Odyssey died in a Sri Lankan hospital on Wednesday, March 19 at the age of 90.

New Medical Database Available

The LMC has just acquired online access to the Magill's Medical Guide. The Guide is an up-to-date compendium of medical information suitable for student research as well as use by general readers, including patients and caregivers.

Limited eGCC Self-Help Services

Due to changes in the Student Information System, the eGCC SELF-HELP account activation and password resetting has been temporarily discontinued. Students are advised to find a technician in the LMC, HT1 or HT2 for help with their account.
