Services Overview

The Media Services department of the LMC is responsible for audio-visual services on campus. This department maintains, schedules and delivers A-V equipment to classrooms and other campus departments. Media Services coordinates video conferencing for intra-district meetings and distance learning, handles production requests (such as videotaping, photographing), facilitates media installations and media systems design throughout the campus, and ensures copyright compliance with A-V materials and production requests. Requests for video purchases for instruction and the LMC collection are processed by the Media Services Librarian.

Mission Statement

Media Services, as part of the Library Media Center, provides leadership to Glendale Community College on all issues related to video collections, instructional programs, and related programs. Media Services supports video advocacy within American Library Association Guidelines, within the profession, and within our library. We understand 'video' to include all formats, analog and digital; multimedia that includes video content; and the network delivery of digital and digitized video. Media Services will work with other departments within Glendale Community College and the Maricopa Community College District to promote video collections and services in the LMC. Media Services is committed to forging strong alliances and relationships with the film and video production industry, distribution community and network services to ensure the continuation of a diverse, high-quality universe of video programming.
