GCC Library Reimagine MakerSpace

The GCC Library Reimagine MakerSpace (located in L-139) is a cross disciplinary facility that encourages hands on learning, collaboration, creativity, experimentation, and design thinking. It is available for use by GCC students, faculty and staff and is available by appointment for faculty/class requests (email: reimaginespace@gccaz.edu) Monday through Thursday.

Is the Reimagine MakerSpace open?
The GCC Library Reimagine MakerSpace, located in room L-139, is currently available by appointment for faculty/class requests. Please submit a library instruction request and select Reimagine MakerSpace in the Primary Purpose of Your Visit field.

Individual students, faculty and staff may also use the space, by appointment, Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:30am-3:30pm. Please submit a request form 1-2 business days ahead of time to schedule a session.

Can I use the Reimagine MakerSpace?
The makerspace is open to faculty for use with their classes. Faculty, please contact the Reimagine Team if you are interested in information about class use and a tour of the facility.

What equipment does the Reimagine MakerSpace make available for use?
3D printers, book bindings materials and tools, a vinyl cutter, arduino and raspberry pi.

What safety protocols are in place?

Is food and drink allowed in the Reimagine MakerSpace?
No.

Do Reimagine MakerSpace users need to be trained?
Yes. Each piece of equipment has corresponding tutorials and quizzes. Users must pass the quizzes and sign a waiver to be eligible to use the space.

Is there a fee to use the Reimagine MakerSpace?
At present, students and faculty are not required to pay a fee. However, this policy may change depending upon demand.
