Why are you expected to cite the sources you used in an assignment?

  • Copyright Law requires it.

 

  • It's only fair to "Give credit where credit is due."

 

  • Citations point interested readers to the sources you used to complete your research.

 

  • The body of knowledge in each field is built upon the scholarship of many researchers sharing their findings.
